Shinhan Financial Group Launches 7-2nd Shinhan Futures Lab, Selected 28 Startups, including 'Zainaps', Korea's First Artificial Intelligence Virtual Voice Startup
The selected startups include "Zainaps," which produces AI virtual voice content, and "Fair Labs," an artificial intelligence intangible asset value analysis platform, "Quantified ESG," a small and unlisted company evaluation/research company, and "ATR," which visualizes consumption payment information as carbon emissions.
The Shinhan Futures Lab welcome event was held in the metaverse space implemented in collaboration with the 7th and 2nd selected companies, Fit Funds.
On the 20th, Shinhan Financial Group (Chairman Cho Yong-byeong) selected 28 companies for the 7-2nd "Shinhan Futures Lab," the first startup accelerator program in the domestic financial sector, and began fostering them in earnest. "Shinhan Futures Lab" has discovered and fostered a total of 250 innovative startups from the launch of the first phase in May 2015 to the first half of this year, and has invested a total of 42.7 billion won directly or indirectly so far. In addition, 10 startups fostered by "Shinhan Future Lab" were selected for the Baby Unicorn 200 project promoted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, making it a representative acceleration program for domestic startups.
Chairman Cho Yong-byung said, "As Shinhan Futures Lab has become Korea's representative accelerating program, we plan to support more startups to grow into unicorn companies through more systematic and diverse fostering and collaboration programs." In the 7-2nd period, not only fintech, content, and artificial intelligence (AI) big data, but also startups with excellent technology in various fields such as ESG, Metaverse, and Healthcare, where Shinhan Financial focuses on its capabilities, supported it. Startups selected in the 7-2nd period include Mango Slab, which provides adhesive memo printing solutions, and Zynaps, which produces AI virtual voice content, and in the ESG sector, artificial intelligence intangible asset value analysis platform Fair Labs, quantified ESG, a small and unlisted company, and ATR, which visualizes consumer payment information as carbon emissions.
In addition, "The Age of Food," a gourmet information platform that shares restaurant data, will be finally selected, and it is expected to create synergy with Shinhan Bank's first delivery app platform in the financial sector. ChainLogis (4-hour arrival delivery service, hair hero), Eye and Trip (online travel service for kids' families), and Cubiz Korea (urban self-storage, small warehouse platform) were also included in the 7-2 development.
Companies selected for the 7-2nd term will be provided with "S-Membership" benefits that provide various programs such as fostering and investment at each startup stage, office space rental, and mentoring, and opportunities to expand their business through collaboration with Shinhan Financial Group and large corporate partners. In particular, this year, in addition to 15 partners in each area such as AmorePacific and Hoban Construction, new partners such as LG Innotek will join to discover and foster future unicorn companies.
